Absolutely correct.  However running around in fake haz-mat gear handing out 
pamphlets does not make regular people stop and ask questions.  It makes them 
give the clowns on the street a wide berth, muttering "idiots" under their 
breath.

Protest is a very tricky thing to get right.  Look at Caledonia for a very 
recent example.  Generally speaking, all you tend to do when you protest is 
to upset people and drive them away from your cause.

DRM is a problem.  It's a very big problem.  We need to educate people without 
coming across as lunatics or the typical anti-Microsoft Linux fanboy that I 
find is all too prevalent these days.
