[discuss] MS dictating education in schools!

I am particularly concerned with the following statement:

"While there is no technical issue, the school board will not allow
non-Microsoft software to be installed. Like many school boards, they
are underfunded, and Microsoft donates a lot of the computer equipment
on the sole condition that non-Microsoft software be barred from these
machines."

(Ontario LinuxFest article)

Can we find out which school boards have this policy? Which
politicians/board members have been bought by MS? Also, I have yet to
get any response from my local MP when I asked, "So, how much does the
Ontario government send to M$ for all those computers in schools and
hospitals, government offices, etc.?" We should definitely be
educating the public about the cost of these M$ 'donated' computers,
and the fact that they BAR alternatives in the schools??!! Since when
does M$ dictate to public schools what software they can use?
